8 Ways to Bounce Back After a Disappointment | Psychology Today.

I learned the hard way that my expectations for my life were unrealistic and too high.  Love and marriage is not “TV style”, it is learning to accept and care for someone different than you are and who will change and grow everyday for the rest of their life just as you will.  Do not expect miracles from a mortal being. They are just human as you are.  Go with the flow of things,  The less you plan, the more fun you will have living in the moment.

Do not give up your dreams and never settle for less, just do not believe that you are entitled to whatever you want in life.  We have to find our own happiness, love ourselves, and provide self-care instead of looking for others to do these things for us.  When you can be satisfied with yourself and your mate, you will lower your expectations and therefore lower your disappointments.
